The name of the suspect apprehended in an armed robbery earlier this morning at the Pow Wow on Highway 16 west has not been released.

Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark posted on Facebook around 11 a.m. that they had one suspect in custody. He was charged with armed robbery, although Clark said other charges are possible as their investigation continues.

Clark was on the side of a road collecting evidence and said he’d have more details later.

“We have had an eventful morning. Right now we are on the side of the road collecting evidence and trying to tie up some loose ends,” Clark said.

Clark said that items were discarded from the vehicle as the driver made an attempted escape that may be germane to the case.

Clark posted on Facebook that the arrest was made possible by cooperation between Sheriff’s Deputies, the Philadelphia Police Department, and the general public.

“Thank you for the calls and public response,” he said. “A cooperative effort from the general public, Philadelphia Police Department, and the Sheriff’s Deputies has this gunman in jail.”.
