An undisclosed amount of cash was taken in an armed robbery at the Philadelphia Wendy's Tuesday night.

A black male wearing a cap and a bandana which covered his face walked in about 11 p.m. as employees were cleaning up and getting ready to close at the Wendy's on west Main Street, the authorities said.

"They were coming from the back getting ready to close and he was behind the counter," said Police Investigator Bobby Pattillo. "He grabbed a manager and made her go to the safe."

The man then fled on foot out the back door with an undisclosed amount of money, Pattillo said.

While the robber didn't brandish a gun, employees told police that he had his hand in his pants, which made them assume he was armed, Pattillo said.

The investigator said Wendy's closes its restaurant around 11 p.m. on Tuesdays while the drive-through remains open later.

Anyone with any information on the robbery was asked to call Crimestoppers at 601-485-1860 or the Police Department at 601-656-2131.
