A man out on bond in connection with a November shooting in the city was killed Sunday in a four-vehicle accident on Mississippi 19 north.

Willie Parker, 62, of 1952 Martin Luther King Dr. and formerly of 9165 Jenni Circle, Jonesboro, Ga., died Sunday in the accident which occurred at 1:02 p.m.

The accident was at the intersection of Mississippi 19 north and Mississippi 395, a report from the Mississippi Highway Patrol said.

Parker was a passenger in a Nissan Maxima being driven by Damian Henderson, 37, of 1238 Martin Road, Carthage, the report said.

Also injured in the accident was Joan Tedford, 53, of 60 Westover Dr., Clarksdale, who was driving a 2004 Toyota Sequoi.

Parker and Tedford had to be extricated by emergency responders following the accident, officials said.

The third vehicle in the accident was driven by William Coleman, 22, of 583 Buck Trail CV, Cordova, Tenn.

The accident report did not list the make and model of Coleman's vehicle.

The fourth vehicle was a 2001 Ford Taurus driven by Marvin Barrett, of 10230 Road 608.

No other details on the four-vehicle accident were available from MHP at press time.

Parker was out on bond on an aggravated assault charge stemming from a Nov. 27 shooting at the Quick Shop in Philadelphia.

Parker was accused of shooting once at Chavis Davis, 19, of 327 Bay St.

The incident stemmed from an Oct. 14 shooting where one of six bullets allegedly fired at Davis landed in a classroom at the Exhibit Hall Head Start Center on Carver Avenue, Police Investigator Fredesz Moore said previously.

Wilshaun McAfee, 31, of 222 Martin Luther King Dr., was charged with aggravated assault on Davis and shooting into an occupied dwelling in connection with that incident.

Parker was McAfee's uncle, Moore said, noting that the cases were connected.
