There were no injuries Saturday morning when a southbound log truck overturned coming into town off the Mississippi 15 bypass.

First responders and others worked for over four hours to clear the one-vehicle accident northwest of Tolbert Chevrolet Buick.

Interim Police Chief Julian Greer said that they received a report of an overturned log truck on the bypass about 7:52 a.m. “It was pretty early,” Greer said.

Although they got traffic moving fairly quickly, the scene was not fully cleared until 12:33 p.m. The northbound exit off of Beacon Street was closed until the wreck was cleared.

Greer said the trucking company had to send another truck to move the spilled logs.

The truck tipped over when the driver made a left turn to head into town.

No one was seriously injured, although though the driver was taken to Neshoba General by ambulance with some pain.

Greer said the wreck remains under investigation.
