Leake Academy celebrated an astoundingly successful Halloween Carnival on Saturday night, Oct. 27.

The month long fundraiser sponsored by the PTO brought in a total of $202,412.16.

Proceeds from the carnival benefit the school by providing improvements, expansions, and purchasing necessary classroom equipment and supplies.

Jodi Wilcher, PTO president and Jerry H. Crowe, headmaster, expressed their sincere appreciation and gratitude to patrons for their dedication and commitment to Leake Academy during the month of October.

They were overwhelmed by the total money collected by our patrons and pleasantly surprised by the number of people in attendance.

Kings and queens who won each category are as follows:



Grayson Atchley, Lauren Payne, Matthan Weaver, and Anna Morgan Young represented Mrs. Diane Jones and Mrs. Cindy Blocker's K-5 classes and won the kindergarten division.

Grayson is the son of Justin and Jessica Atchley of Carthage.

Lauren Payne is the daughter of Scott and Christy Payne of Philadelphia.

Matthan is the son of Michael and Julie Weaver of Sebastopol, and Anna Morgan is the daughter of Dan and Melissa Young of Carthage.

The K-5 classes raised a total of $26,457.15.

The K-4 classes of Mrs. Christy Wade and Mrs. Diane McMillan raised a total of $17,840.87.

Winners of the first through third grade division were Mrs. Ashley Strength and Mrs. Marie Ray's second grade classes with a total of $17,618.10.

Representing second grade were Miriam Prince, Aiden Dorman and Deacon Manuel.

Miriam is the daughter of Philip and Valeria Prince of Philadelphia.

Aiden is the son of Bill and Lynn Dorman of Carthage and Deacon is the son of Joel and Alisha Manuel of Carthage.

Representatives and winners of the fourth through sixth grade division were fourth graders Mabry Mayfield and Thomas Word Strength.

These fourth graders represented Mrs. Beth Alford and Mrs. Monica Adam's classes and raised a total of $21,039.78.

Mabry is the daughter of Mike and Alicia Mayfield of Carthage, and Thomas Word is the son of Word and Ashley Strength, also of Carthage.

The seventh grade class was the winner of the Jr. High School division with $9,999.75, and the sophomore class was the winner of the high school division with $19,721.31.
