A Lauderdale County juvenille has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of a Philadelphia business last week.

Philadelphia Police Detective Bobby Pattillo said on Friday that Matthew Conner Robertson, 17, was arrested and charged with one count of armed robbery as an adult.

Pattillo said that on Aug. 15 around 1 p.m. PPD received a report of an armed robbery at The Spot convenience store located at 1021 West Beacon Street.

“Responding officers arrived on scene within minutes,” Pattillo said.

He said that officers gathered evidence from video surveillance and victim testimony. He said the initial investigation suggested as many as three suspects were involved.

Authorities reported that local law enforcement received a flurry of tips from the community regarding the robbery.

“During the investigation, numerous tips came into the police department,” Pattillo said.

Robertson was eventually identified as the primary suspect and taken into custody with the assistance of the Winston County Sheriff’s Department.

Pattillo said that two other suspects were questioned last week, but were released. No further charges are believed to be pending in this matter.

Robertson remains in the Neshoba County Jail. Pattillo said this case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office for consideration by the next available Grand jury.
