Jockey injured at Neshoba Fair in serious condition

A jockey injured Friday afternoon at The Neshoba County Fair is in serious condition at University Medical Center after bering airlifted to Jackson, according to family and social media posts.
The jockey has been identified by family and friends as Joe Jernigan of Houston, Mississippi.
He is reported to have several broken ribs, a broken arm, a broken collar bone and is currently sedated and on a ventilator, according to family and friends on Facebook.
Jernigan was transported from the Fairgrounds by paramedics stationed at the races to Neshoba General Hospital and then airlifted to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
