A utility trailer was stolen out of a yard in the county over the weekend and an intoxicated man was arrested in a shed.

The trailer theft was reported in the 13000 block of Highway 488, according to the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Department. The property was described as a 5’x8’ utility trailer stolen out of the yard of the residence.

After a report of a shed and vehicle burglary off Road 0241, an intoxicated man was found and arrested.

Glenn Edward Martin Jr., 27, of 1142 Redwater Road, Carthage, was charged with public drunkeness after he was located at the residence.

When deputies arrived on scene, Martin was still at the residence and, according to deputies, clearly intoxicated.

 While it does not appear that Martin took any items from the property, Sheriff’s Investigator Kevin Baysinger said they are still working with the victim to ascertain if any items are missing.

A burglary was also reported Monday in the 11500 block of Highway 482. The victim claims that a camper trailer and a purse were taken from the property.

A theft was reported on Monday in the 11000 block of Road 383. The victim reported missing a single-shot 410 shotgun believed to have been taken out of his son’s car.

A fraud allegation was reported Monday in the 900 block of Pecan Avenue in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Police Investigator Josh Burt said that the victim reported that someone had stolen her information and opened a Verizon cellphone account and that the charges for the had been turned over to a collection agency in her name.

On Monday, someone reported that four truck tires were stolen out of the back of a truck at a residence on Center Avenue between 8 p.m. and midnight.

Last Wednesday, in the 10000 block of Road 179, a victim reported that the tag was stolen from one of his vehicles and was apparently being used on a vehicle in New Jersey. The victim reported receiving fine notices for driving on the New Jersey Turnpike.
