A Neshoba County native will compete for the title of Miss Tennessee next week after winning the preliminary title of Miss Tennessee Soybean Festival.

Madison Hardy, daughter of Mike and Sarah Hardy of Philadelphia, will compete for the crown starting with preliminaries Wednesday, June 19 through Friday, June 21 at 8 p.m. at Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson, Tenn.

The final night of competition will be Saturday, June 22 beginning at 7:45 a.m.

Contestants will compete in interview, swimsuit, evening gown and talent.

Hardy, a Nashville resident, will sing "A Sunday Kind of Love" for her talent.

"I am thrilled for the opportunity to compete in the 2013 Miss Tennessee pageant and the possibility of representing the state at the Miss America pageant in September," Hardy said on Monday.

"Many in my hometown have been so encouraging and helpful along the way and I hope I make Philadelphia proud."

Hardy, 24, is a graduate of Neshoba Central High School and Belmont University in Nashville where she earned a bachelor in business administration in music business.

She is employed at MTV Networks as a licensing assistant.
