Gov. Bryant recognizes Yates on 50th anniversary

Gov. Phil Bryant presented a proclamation to William G. (Bill) Yates Jr., President/CEO The Yates Companies, Inc., Thursday at the Fair, recognizing the 50th anniversary of the founding of W. G. Yates and Sons Construction Company.

The proclamation noted that the company "subsequently became part of The Yates Companies Inc. where it stands as the corporation's flagship company among numerous other companies including JESCO, Blaine Construction, Edwards Electric, Superior Asphalt and Merit Electrical."
Yates is a "family-owned business providing a wide range of construction and building services and has been ranked among the top construction service providers in the country for more than 20 years by Engineering News Record," the proclamation said.
Headquartered in Philadelphia since its inception, Yates has main offices throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. It employs more than 10,000 worldwide.
The Yates motto is "On time, within budget, to your satisfaction" and its mission is to provide value to its client.
"Yates operates in accordance with its core values: safety, integrity, passion and commitment," the Governor said in the proclamation.
