Free financial aid workshops available for high school students

Teachers, parents of homeschoolers, financial professionals, and other community volunteers are invited to attend one of the following workshops and receive free materials for teaching youth financial education.
Workshops will be held on June 20, July 18, and Oct. 18 at MSU Extension Service Offices in Starkville, Hinds County (Raymond), Decatur, Grenada, Corinth, and Biloxi.
Participants must select their preferred date and site on the registration form found online at: http://msucares.com/frm/flier_dollar2013.pdf. Pre-registration is required.
Middle and High School teachers will earn .5 continuing education units for the one-day workshop.
Experts from the Mississippi State University Extension Service, Federal Reserve Banks, and Mississippi Council on Economic Education (MCEE) will lead activities and provide a wide array of teaching resources, including a six-module set of booklets provided by the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE).
Teachers and community volunteers will learn how to order NEFE High School Financial Planning Program (HSFPP) materials in classroom quantities at no cost. Extension Services and Credit Unions, nationwide, partner to provide the NEFE HSFPP in their local areas.
