Extension to sponsor 'fresh market'
Wednesday, June 12, 2013 1:00 AM
The Neshoba County Extension Service Office is sponsoring the "Philadelphia Fresh Market at the Depot" every third Saturday from 8-12 a.m. in the months of June, July, August and September.
The Market will have agriculturally-based products such as fruits, vegetables, herbs, eggs, meat, poultry, seafood, jams, jellies, honey, syrup, seeds, flowers, potted plants, small livestock, and fowl starting this Saturday. Arts and crafts are not allowed at the event.
The purpose of the Market is to promote and provide local, agriculturally-based products to individuals, families and small businesses in Neshoba County.
Anyone in the central Mississippi area is invited to sell at the Market. Products should be grown by the vendor but exceptions will be made on some cases. If you are interested in having a booth at the Market, contact the Neshoba County Extension Service.
Each booth is $20 per Saturday if paid eight days before the event. If the booth fee is paid after the eight days, the fee will increase to $25. An additional fee of $10 will be charged for electricity. The Extension Service needs to know in advance if a vendor needs electricity. If you are interested in attending and paying for all four events, the cost will be discounted to $60.
Make all checks payable to the Neshoba County Growers Association and mail them to the Neshoba County Extension Service, 12000 Hwy 15 North Suite 2, Philadelphia, MS 39350.
