Man robbed outside of Woodcrest residence
An armed robbery on Woodcrest Avenue Monday morning is being investigated by police.
The victim was outside a residence when he was approached by an unknown suspect armed with a gun, Investigator Fredesz Moore said.
When the suspect asked what he had, the victim handed over $100 and an iPhone 4, he said.
Anyone with information on the robbery was asked to called the police department at 601-656-2131.
Man charged with aggravated assault
A Philadelphia man faces an aggravated assault charge following a stabbing Saturday at Reunion Court Apartments.
Matthew Rogers, 27, of 610 Ivy St., was charged with aggravated assault on Demestric Tisdale, of 765 Estes Mill Road, Walnut Grove, Investigator Fredesz Moore said.
The two got into an altercation and Rogers pulled a knife and injured Tisdale, he said.
Tisdale was treated at Neshoba County General Hospital and later released.
Woman faces multiple charges
A Union woman faces multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine, following her arrest last week.
Melinda Sullivan, 23, of 11151 Road 355, Union, was charged with four counts of uttering forgery and one count possession of methamphetamine.
Sullivan is charged with using the account number on a stolen check to pay four bills over the telephone.
After Sullivan turned herself in to authorities, the methamphetamine was found on her personal property, Sheriff's Investigator Grant Myers said.
She was released on $25,000 bond.
Man charged with two felonies
A Philadelphia man, stopped at a convenience store by a Sheriff's deputy for outstanding warrants, was charged with two felonies last week.
Timothy Leon Stewart, 24, of 10541 Road 155, is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
During the investigation, the methamphetamine along with some scales were found in his 2000 BMW, Sheriff's Investigator Grant Myers said.
The car was seized.
The state Bureau of Narcotics assisted in the investigation. Stewart was on probation at the time of his arrest.
Disturbance call leads to felony arrest
A disturbance call at Pendleton Square Apartments resulted in one felony arrest Sunday afternoon.
Willis Dontrell Wraggs, 29, of 247 Kelly St., was charged with felony possession of a fire arm by a convicted felon.
Wraggs was apprehended near the county hospital after he fled on foot to evade Sheriff's deputies at the apartment complex.
