Stolen truck recovered with OnStar assistance
A truck, stolen from a parking lot of First Baptist Church on Dec. 16, was recovered a few minutes later thanks to OnStar, a provider of in-vehicle safety, security and communication services.
After searching for his truck, Investigator Bobby Patillo said, the owner flagged down an officer and reported it stolen.
The owner contacted OnStar, who turned on the truck's alarm and pinpointed its location, Patillo said. It was recovered a few minutes later at a car wash near Burger King.
"They said it was at Beacon and Alford," he said.
A $20 bill and keys taken from the vehicle have not been recovered, Patillo said. There was no damage to the vehicle.
