Police are investigating a pair of house burglaries that occurred last week in the city on the same day.
Police Investigator Bobby Pattillo said a home in the 500 block of Ivy Street was broken into on Sunday.
"The front door was kicked in and the home was ransacked," he said.
Taken in the burglary was a Dell laptop computer.
That same day another home, located in the 300 block of Range Avenue, was also burglarized.
"The front door was kicked and the home was ransacked there as well," Pattillo said.
Nothing was taken from this burglary.
Pattillo said both incidents appeared to have a similar motive.
"We are working on leads," he said, noting that no arrest had been made yet.
Police are also investigating a petit larceny which occurred on Friday.
A small, battery-powered motor bike and a silver scooter were taken from a home on Mississippi 486. Pattillo said the items were taken from outside the home. Anyone with information on the burglaries was asked to call the police at 656-2131.
