Police are investigating a series of unrelated break-ins over the past week.

On July 31, a breaking and entering occurred at a shop on Weyerhaeuser Road, Police Chief Bill Cox said.

A number of checks were taken, some of which were passed at local businesses, Cox said.

"We have a suspect identified but the case is still ongoing," he said.

The next two incidents occurred on the same day and involved automobiles.

Sometime between 9 p.m. on Aug. 3 and after midnight on Aug. 4, a vehicle parked at Woodcrest Apartments was broken into, Cox said.

Taken from the console of the vehicle were $200, he said.

A second vehicle was broken into while parked at Wal-Mart at 3:05 a.m. Saturay, Cox said.

An unknown amount of change and a radar detector were taken, he said.

Cox added that despite being on the same day and around the same time, the vehicle incidents are not believed to be related.
