The second annual "Conservation: Pass it Down" will be held on May 15 at the Neshoba County Coliseum with registration beginning at 5 p.m.
The purpose of the event is to help educate, excite, and engage our county's youth about their current and upcoming responsibilities to be good stewards of our natural resources. Learn fun, educational, hands-on activities that you can do at home and help us "Pass it Down" to the next generation!
Bayou Town Productions will perform a Watershed Harmony Puppet Show sponsored by Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality.
Presenters from the following agencies will also be present: The Neshoba County Forestry Association, Mississippi Forestry Commission, Mississippi State Extension Service, USDA's Natural Resource Conservation Service, Mississippi Museum of Natural Science and Mississippi Soil and Water Conservation Commission. Subjects presented will include:
Forestry, non-point pollution, container gardens, nutrition, wildlife, vermi composting, and paper recycling. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and mentors are all welcome. All children must be accompanied by an adult!
