Philadelphia Police are searching for a suspect in a double stabbing that left one victim dead and sent another to a Jackson hospital.

The stabbings occurred on Valley View Drive in the early morning hours last Wednesday, according to Philadelphia Police Detective Bobby Pattillo.

“We are currently working to locate the suspect in this case,” Pattillo said. “We have no further information at this time and the case remains under investigation.”

Police reports state that officers from PPD responded to the reported altercation around 2:45 a.m. on March 18. The first officers on on the scene discovered two victims that appeared to have been assaulted with an edged weapon. 

One of those victims was fatally injured and the other was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Pattillo said that they are not releasing the names of the victims at this time. 

He confirmed Monday that the victim transported to UMMC has been released.
