Two more Meridian women were arrested last week in connection with a shoplifting incident at a downtown retailer on Dec. 17, Chief of Police Grant Myers said.

Ava Sheffield, 27, of 200 23rd Street, Meridian, and Chabrecia Stevens, 20, of 1902 Old Marion Road, Meridian, were charged with felony shoplifting.
They charged with the theft of $3,000 in clothing at a downtown retailer, Myers said.

Tamela Boston, 24, of 802 Donald Ave., Meridian, was arrested earlier and was also charged with felony shoplifting in connection with the incident.

Warrants have been issued for two other suspects, Myers said.

Police aren't releasing the name of the store and the Democrat is cooperating with the authorities until the other arrests are made.

"All suspects are from the Meridian area and we are working with the Meridian Police Department to locate them," Myers said.
