Police now say the body of a woman found hanging from a tree early Saturday morning on east Myrtle Street is not the same person whose driver's license was found later that evening in an abandoned car in Eastgate Plaza.
The body was spotted by a motorist about 6:30 a.m., the authorities said.
Chief of Police Dickie Sistrunk said Colorado authorities have spoken with the woman whose driver's license was found inside a silver Hyundai.
The Colorado woman, however, provided the name of an acquaintance who she linked to the Hyundai and her driver's license, Sistrunk said.
The name was being withheld pending further investigation.
Both women are of Asian descent, Sistrunk said.
Investigators had questioned people at businesses, including local nail shops as well as the casinos, and haven't found anyone who knows the victim, Sistrunk said.
The body has been sent to the state crime lab in Jackson for analysis, he said.
Sistrunk said the woman appeared to be of Asian descent.
The cause of death remains under investigation, Sistrunk said.
