The Tribal Election Committee was to continue counting absentee ballots Thursday in six races for Tribal Council following Tuesday's election.

Candidates receiving the most votes will be declared the winners as there are no runoffs in Tribal Council elections.

Bogue Chitto, Conehatta and Pearl River will elect two councilmen each while Crystal Ridge, Standing Pine and Tucker, one each.

In uncertified returns, Roderick Bell and Ronnie Henry were leading in Bogue Chitto; Troy Chickaway and Hilda Nickey at Conehatta; Cheriena Ben and Stella York Willis at Pearl River; Kevin Jody Edwards at Standing Pine; Joseph Wesley at Crystal Ridge and Dorothy B. Wilson at Tucker.
