An arrest has been made in the Trustmark bank robbery at Choctaw Tuesday morning, the FBI said, as school bomb threats in two other counties at about the same were deemed hoaxes.

“I can confirm that the Choctaw Police Department made an arrest in the bank robbery that occurred this morning,” said FBI spokesperson Brett Carr.

Around the same time, two Choctaw Tribal Schools, one in Leake and one in Newton County, received bomb threats. The schools were evacuated and no bombs were found, the authorities said.

Tribal officials said late Tuesday that a single suspect was in the custody of Choctaw Police. The suspect fled the bank on foot and was quickly apprehended, they said.

Meanwhile, Tribal Chief Phyliss J. Anderson issued a statement late Tuesday evening.
