DEKALB HEAD START/EARLY START APPLICATIONS

Friends of Children of Mississippi, Inc. is accepting applications for 2018-2019. Child must be: 3-4 years of age on or before Sept. 1 for Head Start or 15 months to 35 months of age on Sept. 1 for Early Head Start.  The following information must be presented:  Proof of income:  1040A, 1040EZ tax return, child support, TANF letter, copy of college grants/scholarships, and any other source of household income.  Social Security or SSI statement.

AREA WIDE YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Neshoba County Youth Football joins the Area Wide League for ages 5-12 (by Sept. 1, no 7th graders).  

The registration fee is $65.

ALZHEIMER’S

CAREGIVER

SUPPORT GROUP

The monthly Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group will meet every 2nd Monday at 5:30 pm.  The meetings are held at the Neshoba County Nursing Home conference room, located near the Station 1 entrance off of Hospital Road.  All families and caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s Disease or other dementia are urged to attend.

SADLER CEMETERY OF HOUSE COMMUNITY

PRIVATE APPLICATOR TRAINING

A two-hour Private Applicator Certification class will be taught on Thursday, September 13, beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the Neshoba County Coliseum multi-purpose room.   The class is for individuals wishing to obtain private applicator certification for the first time and for those who need to renew or reinstate their certification. The cost for the class is $20.00 and it is payable the day of the class.  Please note the Extension Service cannot accept cash or credit/debit card payments.  Registration fee must be paid by check or money order.  Contact the Extension Service office at 656-4602 for more information  

Individuals who require special accommodations to participate should contact the Extension office to make their request known prior to the program.  Contact should be made timely to ensure appropriate accommodation.



OPEN HOUSE CAREER AND TECHNICAL

CENTER

The Philadelphia-Neshoba County Career Technical Center will hold “Open House” on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.  The Career Technical Center is located at 900 Valley View Drive in Philadelphia.

The Center serves high school students from Neshoba Central High School and Philadelphia High School and offers the following technical programs:  

Automotive Service Technology, Construction Technology/Carpentry, Early Childhood Development,

Health Sciences, Law and Public Safety, Welding, and Teacher Academy.

All students, parents, and community members are invited to attend.  Refreshments will be served.



KEA/FRYERY REUNION

Kea/Fryery reunion will be held Sunday September 16, 2018 at the Neshoba Coliseum. We will gather at 10:30 a.m. and plan to eat around 12:30. Please come and bring a covered dish.

MEETING

Central Water Association will have its annual “Meeting of Members” at 5 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018 at the Central Water office located at 915 Valley View Drive.  All members are welcome to attend.



PICKING AND GRINNING

A jewelry and accessories sale will be held Thursday, Sept. 20 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 21 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pear View Cafe in Neshoba County General Hospital. Proceeds to benefit Relay for Life.
