A body was discovered in the aftermath of a house fire at Linwood Tuesday afternoon when the authorities could not account for all of the family members, the authorities said.

After responding to the fire just before 3 p.m., investigators talked with family members and determined that all residents of the home were not accounted for, said Neshoba County Sheriff's Investigator Grant Myers.

The body was found following a search of the debris.

The house was owned by Arvis Neese, who was away when the fire started, Myers said.

An autopsy will be performed on the body to determine a positive identification, Myers said.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, officials said.
