A man who caused an accident on Mississippi 19 south near Tucker Thursday morning ran off into a ditch, then stole a good Samaritan’s vehicle and fled.

“Apparently, a good Samaritan stopped to help out with the accident, and the driver that caused the accident stole the bystander’s vehicle,” said Neshoba County Sheriff Tommy Waddell.

The stolen vehicle is a grey Chevrolet Impala with a Dallas Cowboys sticker on the back.

Waddell said because the wreck happened on a state highway, the wreck and alleged vehicle theft is now under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

There were no injuries. The man was driving a late-model white van.
